Pope Francis ‘Deeply Saddened’ by Baghdad Market Bombing

Iraqis light candles at the site of the explosion in a popular market in the mostly Shiite neighborhood of Sadr City on July 19. An explosion tore through the busy Baghdad market, killing at least 30 and wounding more than 50, in what Iraq says was a ‘terror attack’ by an apparent suicide bomber.

The Holy Father sent his condolences, saying he is praying for those who died as well as their families, friends and community.
