‘Black Nazarene’ Procession in the Philippines Draws More Than 100,000 Faithful Post-Pandemic Restrictions

More than 100,000 faithful gathered Jan. 8 to venerate the beloved image after a two-year suspension of the traditional procession due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

This procession is one of the most important religious celebrations in the Philippines, the only country with a Catholic majority in Asia, accounting for approximately 82% of the entire population.
